Lifeng Fan
Hello! My Chinese name is 范丽凤. I am a research scientist at Agent Learning Lab, Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence (BIGAI) now. I pursued my Ph.D. in the Department of Statistics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). I worked at the Center for Vision, Cognition, Learning and Autonomy (VCLA) under the supervision of Prof. Song-Chun Zhu. I received a B.S. in Statistics at Zhejiang University.
Research interests: cognitive reasoning, social intelligence, agent learning, etc.

09/2026: I am serving as a Guest Editor for the Journal of Intelligence special issue “Social Cognition and Artificial Intelligence” with Dr. Yujia Peng. We welcome empirical, theoretical, computational, and review articles exploring the connections between human social cognition and AI! Submission deadline: May 31, 2027.
09/2026: I have been invited to give a keynote talk at the CONTEXTUS Workshop at ECCV 2026, on “The Dark Matter of Social Intelligence: Bridging Physical and Mental Worlds.”
